Video: How to exploit intelligent data-driven solutions

Those who attended InfraHub’s morning meeting on Thursday, 14th march were, to name a few, guided through cases with IoT prototyping, the use of digital twins when planning construction work, and the challenges with landing a drone on a wind turbine blade. Watch the full presentation here.

Senior Cyber-Physical Specialist Morten Skov from the Alexandra Institute presented some of their recent cases with data-driven technology and their extracted experiences. He gave a backstage tour through the technologies and made it tangible showing the possibilities when put to use.

– I love drones, but the workflow today is often; we have a drone that we can navigate around. When done flying, we get the SD card, then transport and connect it to a computer. And then we analyze and look at the data,” he says and continues:

– If we instead run data in realtime, we are able to react on current issues, and we can skip the long workflow in favour of a small feed back loop.”

Digitalisation in the construction industry
The term BIM covers multiple concepts but in the end it's all about the process of digitalisation in the construction industry. BIM is an evolution and that takes time - it changes the ways we work in construction. Data and Information are central elements to the way the industry will achieve more efficiency and productivity through BIM. BIM should not become complex. BIM should be a technology-tool to make construction better. Want to learn more? Read the article here
