Video: Disrupting surveying with mobile mapping

Taking a closer look at mobile laser scanning: What is the disruption part all about and how can it be used in your business? Provided with a croissant and coffee the participants at InfraHub’s latest morning meeting had the opportunity to see the technology for themselves and have their questions answered. Watch the full presentation here.

“It is a new tool. I am sure there are still many ways of utilization we have not even thought about yet,” Per Lykke Larsen, Head of Geodata at Mølbak A/S explained when presenting mobile mapping at InfraHub’s morning meeting.

He highlighted the potential of the technology and also some of its limitations. For instance showing how it enables a drive-through approach when digitizing your assets and how to avoid ghosts in the point cloud.

Another take away from the presentation was the fact that mobile laser scanning allows you to start with a small digitizing scope, and then later bring in new elements:

“You can revisit you data, without having to do a new survey,” said Per Lykke Larsen.

Watch the video from InfraHub’s morning Meeting, where Mølbak Landinspektører A/S demonstrates how the technology works and how you can process the data afterwards.
